Whether you're staying in Florida or traveling up north during the holidays, keeping your baby warm is important for their health and comfort! Here are our easy tips:
Layer Up 🧥: Dress your baby in layers. Start with a soft, cotton onesie and add layers like a sweater or a fleece jacket. This makes it easy to add or remove clothing as needed.
Head and Feet Warmth 🧢🧦: Make sure to cover your baby's head with a hat and their feet with warm socks or booties. Babies lose a lot of heat through their heads and feet.
Room Temperature 🌡️: Keep the room where your baby sleeps at a comfortable temperature, around 68-72°F (20-22°C). Use a sleep sack instead of loose blankets to keep them warm and safe.
Check for Overheating 🔥: Touch your baby's neck or tummy to check their temperature. If they feel hot or sweaty, remove a layer.
Car Seat Safety 🚗: Avoid bulky clothing in car seats, as that can cause safety issues. Instead, dress your baby in thin, warm layers and use blankets on top once they are already strapped in.
Skin to skin 🤱 : keeps your baby warm as your body adjusts to their needs, and 🛡️strengthens your baby’s immune system. Simply remove their clothes so just the diaper is left, and place your baby on your bare chest and cover with a blanket.
